Project Description
The CN4: Swimming Pool Deck design is located on the third floor of a residential tower designed by Vertical Studio in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The project is a design investigation in pattern and surface to produce a form that is iconographic, ornamental, and functional. Through the use of mass produced and mass customized components, the design creates a continuous skin to clad the ceiling and structural column arrangement of an open air deck. The thin lines of the sensual form are intended to reflect the fluid movement of the water below. The gills of the large belly of the ceiling extending down the column legs to conceal lighting elements that create a variety of atmospheric qualities when lounging in the pool area and generate a visual spectacle of light and activity when viewed from the street.
