The Champagne Bar

2014

Project Description

The Champagne Bar sits along the bank of the River Seine next to the Pont des Arts. Conceived as a cozy pocket that emerges from the massive stone embankment, it generates a warm romantic atmosphere inside its thick walls. The stepped exterior of the building creates an active terrain connecting the river’s edge to street level where additional seating is presented on the roof terrace. At night, the building presents a constellation of light reminiscent of the effervescence of champagne bubbles.

Location: Paris, France.
Size: 350 square meters (3,800 square feet).

Design Team: DOTS
